I opened my last birthday wine yesterday, a bottle of Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi, here are the tasting notes.
Bucci Classico 2007, Verdicchio di Castelli dei Jesi DOC, Classico Superiore, Produced by Bucci Ostra Vetere.
Cost: unknown, I suspect between €12-15, 13.5% abv
Bucci, Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi, a White Wine from Le Marche
The back label tells you that this wine is made from estate grown vines with low yields. I assume the grape is 100% Verdicchio grapes, but there is no other information.
Pale yellow in colour, this wine had lovely aromas of green apple, orange, camomile flowers and freshly baked bread. In the mouth, it was beautifully balanced with a long finish, the flavours matching the aromas nicely.
Verdict: This is a very good bottle of wine, depending on the price, I would buy it again.
